How many appointments do you need to break even?
Your monthly costs, turned into a concrete target for the calendar.
Costs to cover
- Monthly fixed costs (Rent, energy, software, insurance…)
- Monthly team cost (Salaries and social contributions)
One appointment
- Average ticket (Paid by the client, excluding VAT)
- Variable costs (Products and payment fees)
Your calendar
- Open days per month (Days the salon takes bookings)
- Appointments per day (What the team can hold)
What break-even means here
- What each appointment leaves: The average ticket minus products and payment fees. This is the contribution towards your fixed costs.
- Divided into your costs: Fixed and team costs are divided by that contribution, rounded up to a whole appointment.
- Checked against capacity: If the target exceeds what the calendar holds, booking more is not the answer: price, duration or costs are.
Follow your bookings month after month
Glow Up Manager counts your bookings over the period, compares them with the previous one, and projects the coming weeks from your agenda.
Questions about this calculator
Is owner pay a fixed cost?
Yes, if you want the business to pay you. Add the pay you need to the team cost, or the break-even will hide it.
Should VAT be included in the average ticket?
No. VAT is collected for the state, it does not cover your costs. Use the price excluding VAT.
What if my appointments have very different prices?
Use a weighted average from last month: total revenue excluding VAT divided by the number of appointments.
