What do no-shows cost you in a year?
The revenue and working hours left empty when clients do not turn up.
Your volume
- Appointments per week (Across the whole team)
- Open weeks per year (Minus holidays and closures)
One appointment
- Average ticket (Paid by the client, excluding VAT)
- Average duration (Time blocked in the calendar)
Missed appointments
- No-show rate (Your observed rate, or 5% to start)
What this estimate measures
- Volume times rate: Appointments per week, open weeks and your no-show rate give the number of missed appointments in a year.
- At the price of the slot: Each one is valued at your average ticket excluding VAT, and counted in the hours it blocked.
- Protected, not promised: Only bookings paid in advance fall under your cancellation policy. The protected share is a scenario, not a guarantee.
Apply your policy when a client does not come
Paid online bookings are paid in full when the client books. If the client does not come, you record the no-show in Glow Up Bookings and apply or waive the fee your cancellation policy sets.
Questions about this calculator
Are late cancellations included?
Not here. Add them to the rate if the slot cannot be filled again, since the effect on your day is the same.
Is protected revenue guaranteed?
No. It assumes your cancellation policy is applied to every no-show on a booking paid in advance. Some salons waive it for regulars.
What rate should I start with?
If you do not track it, 5% is a cautious starting point for appointments booked without payment in advance.
